Travertine

Travertine has been used as a building stone since ancient times. Travertine is a dense closely compacted form of Limestone found mostly in areas where circulating ground water contains Calcium carbonate, often forming around the mouths of hot spring waters. Often used as decorative building stone, applicable for both indoors and outdoors; it can be used in all rooms of the house from living areas, bathrooms, kitchens, outdoor living spaces, and around pools.

The Travertine we supply is available in a variety of sizes, thickenesses, colours and finishes. Stair cappings/pool edging are also available in both bullnose and square edge.

Marble

Marble is formed from Limestone, by additional heat and the earths crust forces. This process is called re-crystallization. The variety, textures and makeup of the marble is the result of the differences in the original carbonate minerals, the impurities, and the heat forces during this process. Marble is ageless and always remains contemporary. The most common uses of marble include interior and exterior wall cladding, flooring and paving, fireplaces, vanity tops, kitchen bench tops, table tops, and staircases.

The Marble we supply is available in a variety of colours, shapes, sizes and finishes for both indoor and outdoor use.

Limestone

Limestone tiles are made up mostly of a mineral form of Calcium Carbonate called Calcite. They are formed when the calcium carbonate crystallizes. Limestone tiles are typically formed over many years at the bottom of the oceans or lakes from the accumulation of shells, bones and other calcium rich goods. Limestone tiles are the stone of choice for elegant projects – the soft look and smooth feeling surface is the main reason for the popularity of this material.

Our limestone tiles are sourced from many parts of the world and is available in either honed (matte) or polished (shiny) finish. Most common uses: Interior and exterior wall cladding, interior and exterior flooring and paving, staircases, counter tops.

Bluestone

Bluestone tiles are medium grained dark and heavy rock, harder than granite. Bluestone was used extensively as cobblestone, and for kerbs and gutters, many examples which still exist in some of Melbourne’s smaller city lanes and 19th Century inner suburban lanes. Bluestone tiles offer an excellent hard durable surface offering good scratch and slip resistance. Ideal for all commercial, home, internal and external applications, Bluestone tiles can be used for indoor or outdoor applications.

Granite

Granite tiles are commonly believed to have been formed from volcanic emissions or solidified molten rocks under the earths crust pressure. Granite is a hard, course grained crystalline rock and is known to be a strong and durable stone. Granite’s crystalline structure is far more resistant to abrasions, staining and discoloration than most marbles. Denser and stronger than all natural stones, granite is an excellent choice for high traffic areas where class and style is desired.

Most common uses include interior and exterior wall cladding, indoor and outdoor paving, residential and commercial counter tops, kitchen and bathroom bench tops.
